Analysts Named Mafia: The Old Country Sales. Publisher Can Be Satisfied
According to unofficial data, Mafia: The Old Country is showing a strong start. The game, released on August 7, sold an impressive number of copies in its first month.
According to Alinea Analytics, over 1.2 million players across all platforms purchased the project between August 7 and September 7. The result shows that the Mafia series remains in demand, and the return to an authentic atmosphere was the right move.
The PlayStation 5 version made the largest contribution to sales with 643,000 copies, which is almost half of the total volume. The Steam version came in second with 337,000, and the fewest copies were sold on Xbox with 117,000.
This start suggests that Mafia: The Old Country may remain among the popular releases for a long time. Strong sales in the first month confirm not only the importance of the brand, but also a successful marketing campaign, as well as interest in the theme of the Italian mafia.
As a reminder, the future of the franchise depends on how well the new installment is received and purchased — the decision remains with Take-Two.
