According to new hardware sales data, Switch 2 has surpassed several legendary systems. PlayStation 2 reached two million in 15 weeks, while Nintendo DS and Wii took 18 and 19 weeks, respectively. For comparison, older platforms like Sega Mega Drive and PC Engine took several years to reach the same milestone.
In terms of total sales in the first 14 weeks, Switch 2 again ranks second after the Game Boy Advance. The new hybrid console has sold 2,025,761 units, while the Game Boy Advance sold 2,137,065. Nintendo DS (1,876,155), PlayStation 2 (1,793,715), and Wii (1,752,238) round out the top five.
The Switch 2's results highlight Nintendo's growing success in the hardware segment. The original Switch sold 911,776 units in the same period, ranking 9th. Consoles like Super Famicom and PlayStation Portable also lag behind the new system.
