Grand Theft Auto remains one of Take-Two Interactive's key franchises, so the company has high hopes for GTA 6.
Take-Two Interactive recently held its annual investor meeting, summarizing financial results. Although Grand Theft Auto VI was not the main topic of the meeting, company president Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the game's release plan for May 26, 2026, has not changed. Additional details about the Rockstar Games development will be revealed later, and the company reiterated its forecasts for record revenues.
«With the release of our key projects, including GTA VI in fiscal year 2027, we anticipate record net bookings, which will become a new foundation for the business and lead to increased profitability,» Zelnick noted.
The CEO emphasized that this is one of the premieres on which the company's future depends. The GTA series brings in 12.6% of all Take-Two's revenue, although there are other significant franchises: Mafia, NBA 2K, WWE 2K. Currently, the company earns more from other series, as GTA accounts for approximately 1/8 of all revenue.
