The company has confirmed that WWE 2K25 servers will be shut down on March 14, 2027. This means only two years of support after the global premiere (March 14, 2025). For Nintendo Switch 2 owners, the situation is even worse: the game version only went on sale on July 23, 2025, which means full online access will be available for less than a year and a half.
After the WWE 2K25 servers are shut down, users will be able to play in offline modes Play Now, Showcase, MyRISE, MyGM, and Universe. But all network functions, including online matches, will be unavailable. At the same time, 2K announced in advance that WWE 2K24 servers will close even faster — on January 5, 2026.
The news caused a wave of criticism. Against the backdrop of such decisions, the Stop Killing Games initiative, which opposes the practice of quickly "disabling" sold games, is sounding louder. Publishers and industry representatives justify this by saying that endless server support "interferes with the development of future projects" and limits availability.
