Hideo Kojima hasn't forgotten about PHYSINT. The first game being developed for PlayStation 6 is still in the early stages of creation.
During the Beyond the Strand event, he mentioned the first game for PS6. This is the third collaboration with PlayStation after Death Stranding and Death Stranding 2, but this time it's a new intellectual property.
PHYSINT was presented in 2024 at the January State of Play. Kojima emphasized that it is a cinematic-level spy action game being created in Hollywood conditions — part of the work takes place on the Columbia Pictures sets. Players are promised not only rich gameplay, but also a spectacular experience similar to a movie.
The project is still in the conceptual stage. Kojima clarified that he is still finalizing the cast, visuals, and plot details.
The presentation showed the first concept materials, including a poster with the main character (his face is not revealed). It is already known that the game will feature: Charlie Fraser (\"Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga\"), Don Lee (\"Train to Busan\") and Minami Hamabe (\"Godzilla Minus One\").
Although the main character has not yet been chosen, Kojima promises that the decision will be made soon. \"The project is still taking shape, but it will be the most cinematic experience we have ever created,\" he said.
For fans, this is a return to the roots — Kojima is considered the \"father of spy action\" thanks to the Metal Gear series. PHYSINT could become a spiritual successor to the cult games and simultaneously open a new chapter on PS6.
