Owners of modern video cards continue to face various technical problems in games.
Silent Hill f recently had an early release, and owners of the premium edition were able to access it. Soon, complaints from dissatisfied PC gamers began to appear on the Steam forum.
Among them were owners of RTX 5090 video cards — the game simply crashes shortly after launch.
A user with the nickname Steve Harvey managed to find a solution, but another problem arose:
«Managed to get around this by selecting a different preset, but some stretched textures appear around me (don't know what to call them). The same thing happened in MGS3».
Some also suggest turning off the "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" and "Optimizations for windowed games" features.
Plastic Love associates this problem with GPU drivers — similar issues are observed in some other Unreal Engine 5 projects:
«This is a driver error that is currently observed in at least five different AAA games on UE5. NVIDIA should fix this for the 5080/5090, or we may have to roll back the drivers».
