AYN employees continue to share materials with gamers about the Thor portable clamshell console with two AMOLED screens, which will begin shipping in mid-October.
Today, the developers posted a video showing the unboxing of the box with this device. Also in the video, the team played various projects from Android, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and Nintendo DS.
The upper 6-inch display of the AYN Thor has a resolution of 1080x1920, a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness of 650 nits, and a contrast ratio of 100000:1. Its color gamut is 152% sRGB.
At the same time, the smaller lower screen (3.92 inches) operates at a resolution of 1080x1240, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 550 nits. The contrast ratio of this screen is the same, and the color gamut reaches 150% sRGB.
This console, which uses Android 13, will be released in four variations: Lite, Base, Pro, and Max. The Lite version runs on a Snapdragon 865 chip with an Adreno 650@587 MHz graphics processor. It is equipped with 8 GB of LPDDR4x@2133 MHz RAM and 128 GB of UFS3.1 internal memory.
The Base, Pro, and Max variants offer a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with an Adreno 740@680 MHz graphics processor. The amount of LPDDR5x@4200 MHz RAM can be 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB, and the UFS4.0 standard internal memory is available in 128 GB, 256 GB, or 1 TB.
Currently, the AYN Thor with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal memory, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip can be purchased for $249 (20,852 rubles), with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and 8 GB + 128 GB – for $299 (25,039 rubles).
