In 2025, a precedent will occur: for the first time in the history of the Black Ops sub-brand, a new installment will be released immediately after the previous one. Previously, there was at least a year's wait between two games in the sub-series. Now some fans fear that Black Ops 7 will be too similar to last year's "six".
Senior Producer Yale Miller said in an interview:
"I think the honest answer to that question is 'Yes.' I'm worried."
He recalled that it was originally planned to release two parts of Modern Warfare, and then move on to BO7.
"We'll see how we proceed. We are happy with the opportunities that this schedule provides, but if I said that I have no doubts, it would be a lie".
At the same time, the studio emphasizes that Black Ops 7 will have its own style and atmosphere. The action is moved to 2035, and uniqueness should be supported by post-release updates.
"We are focused on the seasonal online component. How to give players new experiences? More maps, events every week, fresh mechanics, for example, a deeper weapon prestige system."
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be released on November 14 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
