Capcom is preparing a major gift for fans of survival horror. In early 2025, three parts of the Resident Evil series will appear on the Nintendo Switch 2 at once.
The console will receive Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and the latest Resident Evil Requiem on the same day. This move should interest both newcomers and those who have long been familiar with the franchise.
Why did the company decide to release three games at once? As Masato Kumazawa from Capcom explained, it all started with a test launch of Village on Switch 2, and the game worked surprisingly stable. This prompted the team to check Requiem, and when it also showed excellent results, it became logical to add Resident Evil 7. According to the developers, releasing three projects simultaneously will allow players to easily immerse themselves in the modern era of Resident Evil — starting with the seventh part or moving directly to the newest one.
The release of Resident Evil 7, Village, and Requiem on Switch 2 is scheduled for February 27, 2026. The first shots of the Requiem version for the new console have already been published. Switch 2 will become a platform where you can play the entire current line of the series without waiting for ports and updates.
