Despite the fact that pre-orders for ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are selling well worldwide, the reaction of players to the cost has been mixed.
The first model costs $599.99, and the X version costs $999.99. For many, this is too high a price regardless of the choice.
According to John Clarke from XboxEra, during Gamescom in August, Microsoft and Asus allegedly tried to lower the price. That is why the cost was not announced simultaneously with the release date. Insider Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming confirmed that such a plan was indeed discussed "at that moment," but "for some reason it was not possible to implement it."
This is another reason to criticize Microsoft, which recently raised prices for all Xbox Series X/S models in the US. It is not yet clear how this will affect long-term sales of portable devices. But demand looks high right now.
The launch of ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X will take place on October 16 in 38 countries, later the list of regions will be expanded.
