In the near future, Anbernic may announce a new dual-screen clamshell handheld console to compete with the AYN Thor and Ayaneo Pocket DS. A video of this device can already be found on the internet, but it may be fake.
Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that Anbernic is developing a new dual-screen clamshell handheld console. Today, an interesting teaser trailer appeared online, featuring such a device.
Perhaps Anbernic deliberately leaked this video to stir up interest among gamers, or the video was created by a neural network (and this “teaser” is just a fake from some user).
The new console, dubbed Anbernic RG DS by the Retro Handhelds portal, visually resembles the Nintendo DS Lite/DSi. It has two joysticks located below the D-pad and A/B/X/Y buttons, displays of the same size, two speakers, L1/L2/R1/R2 triggers, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Among other things, people have found a photo of this new console, but the image features the Google Gemini logo, so the picture may be fake and generated by artificial intelligence.
It is currently unknown what operating system the Anbernic RG DS uses, what the device's specifications are, how much it will cost, and when it is expected to be released.
