The Xbox ROG Ally X hasn't hit stores yet, but scalpers are already trying to capitalize on early demand. New listings on eBay show the handheld PC priced from $2399 to $2500, significantly exceeding the official price of $999.99.

YouTuber Spawn Wave drew attention to the inflated prices on social media, showing a screenshot with several sellers. They are offered as "new", some are marked as pre-order, others - with characteristics like 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. Despite the official Xbox price, sellers are targeting buyers willing to pay more than double.

The situation arose against the backdrop of statements by Microsoft and Asus about the high demand for a premium portable PC. The official Xbox account previously reported that pre-orders for ROG Ally X were sold out worldwide, adding: "Demand is really huge! Pre-orders for ROG Xbox Ally X are over on the Xbox Store worldwide."

But the situation outside official channels looks different. Players report that pre-orders are still open in some regions and at some retailers. Uncertainty raises discussions about how limited the actual stock is.

The Xbox ROG Ally X launches on October 16, 2025 and is positioned as a premium model with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and a 7-inch 120Hz FHD screen. A more affordable version, the standard Xbox ROG Ally, will be available on the same day for $599.99.

Given the activity of resellers and conflicting information about pre-orders, buyers will have to be patient. In the coming weeks, it will become clear whether the shortage reflects a truly limited number of devices or whether it is the usual hype around an expected novelty.
