Before the sensational Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, another game with the subtitle "Redemption" was released in the franchise. It also has fans, and some wanted to create a remake based on The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.
In 2024, the modders Galejro had problems: although the rights to World of Darkness belong to Paradox Interactive, which approved this fan project, claims arose from Activision's lawyers — it published the original VTM Redemption — and the project seemed to be shut down.
However, in 2025, the creators released a new developer diary. The project has been renamed and is now known as Vampire the Masquerade Reawakened — this is a "rethinking of the original game events without Activision content."
The release of Vampire the Masquerade Reawakened is scheduled for 2026.
