SNK has officially brought back one of its most famous arcade fighting game series: Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers on Steam. The game was originally released in 1998 and is considered one of the most complete and beloved releases in the Fatal Fury series.
The game has returned with improvements designed for modern players, becoming the first game in the new NEOGEO Premium Selection collection, where classics are presented in an updated version.
The heart of the game is a roster of 23 fighters, the largest in the series: along with legends like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, "newcomers" Li Xiangfei and Rick Strowd appeared, as well as the secret character Alfred. The 2D action retains the famous Sway Line system, allowing you to move between the lines of battle and adding strategic depth to the battles.
The Steam version adds rollback netcode for smooth online gameplay with lobbies for up to 9 players, single or double elimination tournaments, and a spectator mode for watching matches. There is also an advanced Practice Mode with speed settings, recording, and hitbox visualization for honing techniques. For fans, there is a Gallery Mode with 59 materials: illustrations, character portraits, and historical videos that immerse you in the history of Fatal Fury.
