Masayoshi Yokoyama, head of Ryu Ga Gotoku, noted that PC players are of particular importance to the studio.
"If I remember correctly, we entered the PC market with Yakuza 0 about 11 years ago. Before that, our games were only released on PlayStation and exclusively in Japanese, targeting the local market," Yokoyama said in an interview.
"Initially, Yakuza was created as a game by Japanese people for Japanese people, so we didn't expect global recognition. But once we properly localized the games and made them available to players around the world, the PC market embraced them with great enthusiasm. This support helped the studio grow and put us on the path to globalization."
Yokoyama emphasized the importance of the PC audience for the studio and the series:
"I believe that we have reached our current level precisely because of these players. In the future, I hope to continue creating exciting and engaging projects for this platform."
