The updated version of the shooter will be released on October 21, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In the trailer, the narration is led by a demon, and the presentation shows that the series is ready to return.
Players can expect a dark, fast, and brutal shooter with battles against hordes of demons. The main task is to stop the invasion of the fallen angel Azazel and save Earth. In addition to the single-player campaign, a co-op mode for three people will be available.
The trailer features classic Painkiller elements: gothic locations, dynamic battles, and a recognizable arsenal. But the developers have also added innovations: a tarot card system for upgrades, four unique characters (Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch), as well as Rogue Angel mode — a separate roguelike with procedural arenas and random rewards.
