Recently, Starbreeze, known for the Payday franchise, once again reminded about its project known as Project Baxter. The occasion is not particularly joyful.
Project Baxter has been decided to be canceled. It was supposed to be a cooperative adventure in the \"dynamic world of Dungeons & Dragons.\"
The cancellation will entail a write-off of approximately $27.2 million, and about 44 people will be laid off (full-time employees + contractors).
The cancellation of Project Baxter is positioned as a \"difficult but necessary decision.\" The developers intend to focus on Payday 3 — the team will be expanded to approximately 50 employees.
