Mojang has introduced the Friendly Fishing add-on for the cubic sandbox Minecraft Bedrock. It was created in collaboration with Conservation International, "a non-profit organization that works to protect nature for the benefit of humanity."
The focus will be on fishing — different types of fish have their own behavior:
"you'll have to master a mini-game each time you hope to catch a barracuda, flounder, or sea bass. These nasty fish have unique behaviors and logic, so you'll need to show not only ingenuity but also patience to catch these elusive sea creatures (just like in real fishing). There are over 90 species of fish in total, so let's see how many you can catch."
Caught fish can be registered in the "Encyclopedia": it tracks their weight, habitat, and other information.
Trash will sometimes be found in the water: it can be used to create unique items; by gradually cleaning the reservoir, players will be able to discover additional types of fish that can be caught.
