This is the first installment in the series to be set in Japan. Residents of the Land of the Rising Sun noted this move, thanks to which the Neobards Entertainment project provided the best opening week for a new game in the series in many years.

Famitsu has published fresh sales data in Japan. For the period from September 22 to 28, 57,475 physical copies were sold, which brought Silent Hill f to first place in the Japanese magazine's ranking.
