The company answered community questions in the Discord MSI Gaming, where a representative stated that all new 800 series models are "Future CPU Ready." This means that after a BIOS update, the boards will be fully compatible with new generation processors.

This confirms AMD's promise of the longevity of the AM5 socket. The platform started with Ryzen 7000 (Zen 4), now supports Ryzen 9000 (Zen 5) and Ryzen 8000G (APU with iGPU RDNA 3). Zen 6 is expected to join them in the second half of 2026 without the need to change the motherboard.

MSI is already preparing for the new generation: B850I EDGE TI EVO WIFI with improved solutions for future CPUs. MAX series 800 boards, such as MPG X870E CARBON MAX WIFI and MAG X870E TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI, are equipped with an external BCLK generator and 64 MB BIOS, which will accommodate new microcodes and support future Ryzen without firmware issues.

According to unofficial information, AMD has already sent the first engineering samples of Zen 6 to partners for stability and compatibility testing. It seems that the next generation of Ryzen will be smoothly released on the current AM5 ecosystem, making the platform even more attractive.
