Recently, fans of the "shooter" genre once again remembered the Unreal franchise. In early October, modder Krull0r, who had previously shown his remake, got in touch.
The enthusiast presented a new trailer for the Unreal Redux project:
«This remake is based on the Unreal Engine 1 engine, which has been significantly improved thanks to patch 227 from OldUnreal. Thus, the remake retained the flavor and atmosphere of the original Unreal, but at the same time received new visual effects and gameplay mechanics».
Some changes and new features:
- The bodies of killed enemies can be searched to obtain random ammunition and items.
- Buttons, switches, and control panels are activated only with the new "use" key
- Some enemies will appear in their area, but in different locations
- Nvidia PhysX decorations
- QuadShot is now an official weapon and can be found during the campaign if you put in some effort.
- Increased the amount of level geometry detail for each map
- New detailed skybox (sky)
Krull0r clarified that Unreal Redux does not yet have an official release date, and what is shown in the trailer does not reflect the final quality.
