Not everyone who played Silent Hill f was happy with how the main character looks.
The game used the appearance of model Konatsu Kato. After studying the photos, some players, like andresot, had questions for the developers: "The real model is so beautiful. Why is the digital version so ugly?"
sosbrigate93 supported: "True! It's like all the characters were disfigured."
The mod community offered a solution. diegohsu presented the More Kawaii Hinako modification on Nexus Mods, he adjusted the model to "achieve better facial symmetry, smooth out the jawline, and slightly shorten the chin."
There is also another mod, Fatal Frame Style Hinako Face by mothercrone, which "gives Hinako a new face inspired by her Silent Hill F cover, making it softer and more doll-like. The design is also inspired by the heroines of the Fatal Frame series."
