The developers of "Korea. IL-2 Series" recently presented new teasers. 1C Game Studios decided to talk about suspended weapons.
They noted the peculiarity of the approach to this type of weapon in the 50s:
«In the Soviet paradigm of military aircraft construction of the 40s and 50s, the specialization of combat aircraft types is clearly expressed. Of the Soviet fighters in the game, only the MiG-15 could carry bombs (two of 100 kg each), and rocket weapons were generally used only by IL-10 attack aircraft.
This is in stark contrast to American practice, where the universalization of combat aircraft prevailed: fighters could use a wide range of bomb and missile weapons.»
For example, in piston aviation, the Soviet La-11 and Yak-9P had no suspended weapons at all, while the American F-51D fighter had two pylons for bombs up to 1000 pounds each and 6 suspension points for missile pylons. The engineers provided for the possibility of replacing two bomb pylons with 4 missile pylons.
The authors confirmed that American aircraft will have access to «110gal Napalm - a tank with an incendiary mixture ("napalm") of 110 gallons (416 liters)»
