For some involved in the creation of the game, their introduction to video games only began after joining the Sandfall studio.
Lead writer Jennifer Swedberg-Yen recently spoke with Lits Play about some of her inspirations, as well as her experience with games before working on Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
As it turned out, she had no experience with video games at all:
«I confess, I hadn't played any video games before because I grew up in a very strict Chinese family, and I'm the eldest. At that time, video games were very expensive, so I didn't have any experience with them. I went to the library and read books.»
Before joining Sandfall Interactive, Jennifer had only played board games like Dungeons & Dragons.
After joining the studio, she decided she needed to do her "homework", so together with her husband (who also played games) she started with the Borderlands series:
«Now we have two TVs, two PlayStations, we sit next to each other. I'm a trophy hunter, I have platinum trophies in Elden Ring , God of War, God of War: Ragnarok. You could say I play a lot of games now.»
