Earlier this summer, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster from Nightdive Studios was released. The developers recently got in touch and warned players about the fate of the original game.
Selling System Shock 2 (1999) as a separate game will cease, it "...will be removed from the PC platform on October 10, 2025. Existing owners of the game will still be able to re-download and play it from their library, but new users will no longer be able to purchase System Shock 2 (1999) as a separate product."
After the "separate" version is removed, it will become available in the library to both new and current owners of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster — at no additional cost.
