In anticipation of the start of pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6, gamers are "predicting" what price they will decide to set for the game. There is an opinion that it may exceed the usual $60-70 for a standard edition AAA game.
Analysts from MIDiA Research also decided to share their vision of the price of GTA 6. IGN reviewed their research and reported that it "rejected a price of $100 for GTA 6."
MIDiA's model, based on the Gabor-Granger price analysis ("price ladder") and a survey of more than 2,000 consumers in the United States, shows that a price of $70 for GTA 6 is the optimal solution that will maximize earnings from game sales.
A representative from MIDiA stated:
"Our research shows that GTA 6 will generate more revenue at a standard price of $69.99 than at the widely discussed price of $100. A price of $100 will actually lead to a loss of revenue."
The data considered showed that any increase in revenue from people who still buy GTA 6 at a price above the "optimal" ($70) will be less than the lost revenue from those who will not buy the game at a higher price.
