The ROG Xbox Ally X is premiering soon, and new videos of the Microsoft portable device have already appeared. The question is whether the device will impress a wide audience.
The gadget will be universal with access not only to Xbox Game Pass, but also to Steam, Epic Games Store and Battle.net platforms, which will allow you to run PlayStation games on the "portable Xbox".
New videos have appeared on the GameV channel demonstrating how the device handles major hits of recent months. Among the tested games were Battlefield 6, Helldivers 2, Forza Motorsport, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Fortnite. All games run smoothly.
For example, Battlefield 6 on "low" settings with AMD FSR consistently holds 60 fps, and Helldivers 2 at 1080p on mixed settings shows 60–70 fps. Forza Motorsport with active ray tracing and high settings holds about 50–55 fps at 1080p, and 60 fps at 900p. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 depends on the power mode: in Silent (13W) — ~40 fps, Performance (17W) — ~60 fps, Turbo (35W, mains powered) — "Extreme" with fps. Fortnite in Full HD on medium settings gives 70–80 fps.
It should be taken into account that the tests were carried out on a pre-release sample, so the final figures may change after updates on the day of release.
