Disanti noted that the franchise is entering its second major phase after collaborations with Fortnite, Call of Duty, Youtooz, and Universal Halloween Horror Nights. The new game and film will not appear until 2027 at the earliest. The game project will be larger in scope than the failed 2017 multiplayer: more resources, a more realistic visual style, and a separate creative direction. The old Friday the 13th: The Game was shut down at the end of 2024 due to licensing issues.
Disanti confirmed the participation of longtime composer Harry Manfredini, who is working on conceptual music. The film is not yet in active development, and a studio is not connected; the Barsamian team is focused on small projects, including the short film Sweet Revenge.
The franchise will also be developed through comics and books. The Barsamians are personally interested in updating the brand, combining nostalgia and a modern approach. There are no specific release dates, but new resources and a long-term strategy promise the return of Jason Voorhees and the beginning of a new era for the franchise.
