Analysts noted that one of the main changes was Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA), traditionally a weak point of Control. Remedy introduced a new version of TAA, which, while not perfect, significantly reduces blurring and visual artifacts. PSSR technology has been added to PS5 Pro for upscaling, increasing image clarity with a moderate load on performance.

The update also introduces the ability to unlock the frame rate. On PS5 in Performance mode, the game fluctuates between 60–90 fps, reaching up to 110 fps in less complex locations, but dropping below 60 fps in intense battles. VRR support smooths out these fluctuations. PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X provide +10–15 fps compared to the base PS5, increasing stability. In Quality mode with ray tracing enabled, the frame rate is fixed at 40 fps on PS5 and Series X, but reaches 60 fps on PS5 Pro, offering a balance between graphics and performance.

Overall, according to Digital Foundry, update 1.30 makes Control Ultimate Edition on next-generation consoles smoother, more responsive, and visually coherent, demonstrating how older projects can unlock the potential of modern hardware.
