It seems that Capcom will still return to RE 0 and significantly update the game.
Recently, talks about the Resident Evil 0 remake have started again. This time, it was not an RE "insider" known in the community who spoke out, but the journalists of mp1st.
According to the information they received, Resident Evil 0: Remake has indeed been in development for several years; the code name is "Chamber" (clearly referring to the main character — Rebecca Chambers).
Actor John Maclaren, who previously played Star-Lord in the game based on "Guardians of the Galaxy" (Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy), may have joined the project. His resume listed "Project Chamber." It is assumed that he will play Billy Coen.
It is also reported that the remake is being supervised by Beyond Capture Studios, a motion capture company that previously collaborated with Capcom on games such as the Resident Evil 4 remake and Street Fighter 6.
The Resident Evil 0 remake is expected to expand on the original material, but the main story will remain the same.
One of the new storylines will be related to the initial part of the game, which takes place on a train, namely with the conductor. In the remake, his role will be "somewhat more significant":
"in one scene, he asks Rebecca to help stop the train from speeding up, but eventually betrays her, locking her up with a crowd of zombies to escape. After that, we won't see him again until we get to a later area of the game, where Rebecca finds him interacting with another mysterious, unnamed character who seems to be aware of the overall situation and is obviously playing an important role in the plot."
