Factorio attracts a variety of players, including one famous creator-magician.
The Gearbox boss continues to give interviews and recently spoke with Shacknews. During the conversation, he was asked about his favorite game, and Randy Pitchford admitted that he has been playing the factory building simulator Factorio a lot lately:
I've been asked this question before, and I've given different answers. The video game that I think made me a game developer was Colossal Cave Adventure, and I spent a lot of time with it. It was text-based. There's something really magical and special about that, and I think a lot of what I've been doing since then is trying to experience that feeling again, or at least create it for others. So that's really important. There was a time when DOOM and DOOM 2 were the most important things in my life. If I look back, like, take the last five years and look at what game I've probably spent the most hours on — it's Factorio. Oh my god, I'm a super fan of Factorio. I love that game.
