A few weeks after the release of Ghost of Yotei, co-director Jason Connell and lead writer Ian Ryan answered in an interview whether Atsu's story is complete or whether we should expect additions, as with Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island.
Ryan believes that the end of the game closes only one chapter of Atsu's life. She got the revenge she wanted, but she still has many challenges ahead.
"For me, it's just the end of a chapter, but she has so much ahead of her. She is learning to live without her brother, taking care of her niece as a surrogate mother. Revenge is behind her, but she is not yet fully healed. She has learned a lot and now sees a future beyond revenge."
When asked about future content, Connell noted that a lot depends on player reaction. Possible DLCs or expansions will only be created if fans want to know more about Atsu. According to him, as with Jin Sakai in Ghost of Tsushima, the developers get a rare opportunity to explore what the audience is interested in and, if necessary, expand the character.
