Video game archivist named Yuvi has preserved a rare Japanese Resident Evil spin-off — Biohazard: The Episodes, released in 2007 for feature phones.
In those years, so-called feature phones were actively developing in Japan — predecessors of smartphones with their own gaming platforms. Adaptations of many popular series were released on them, including Resident Evil (in Japan — Biohazard).
In the 2000s, Capcom released several mobile games in this franchise: Biohazard: The Missions, Biohazard: The Stories, Biohazard: The Episodes, and Biohazard: The Operations. Only the first one was officially released outside of Japan, and the rest were long considered irretrievably lost.
Several years ago, a group of enthusiasts began restoring the projects, extracting them from old phones. They have already managed to recover Biohazard: The Stories (demo version) and Biohazard: The Operations (partially), and now — The Episodes.
