Valve is testing a personal release calendar in Steam — it works without weekends

Valve recently launched a new Steam Labs experiment — participants can connect to the laboratory and test a Steam feature that may eventually make its way into the client.

Experiment #16 "Personal Calendar" — the system will analyze information from Steam profiles and create a calendar that will mark upcoming games:

The new calendar finds people with similar playtime profiles to yours, and then looks for products that those players have added to their wishlists. Based on the games you play a lot: the system is mostly focused on the games you play most often (relative to other players) and where you spend the most time. So a few minutes in new games or demos won't have much impact on your recommendations, unlike a long time in a new favorite game. Daily update: the recommendation system retrains daily based on the latest data. In reality, your recommendations are unlikely to change much from day to day, but over time you will definitely see new products — the 8-week calendar horizon will move forward, and developers will announce release dates for new games.

There is a nuance — the calendar does not include weekends:

....very few games are released on weekends, and we wanted to allocate as much space as possible for upcoming products. In the rare cases when a game is released on a weekend, it will be displayed in the calendar in the following Monday's cell.
