The new port adds widescreen support, increased fps, and the ability to reassign controls, while preserving the original gameplay and working even on weak video cards.

Duke Nukem became popular in the 1990s thanks to Duke Nukem 3D on PC and consoles. But franchise games for Nintendo 64 and PlayStation remained unavailable to PC gamers. Among such projects was Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, considered one of the best games about Duke.

Zero Hour: Recompiled is an unofficial third-person port where Duke travels to the Wild West and Victorian London to save the world from a new alien threat. Among the features are post-apocalyptic New York after a nuclear war and battles with Jack the Ripper.

The port is compatible even with outdated GPUs like GeForce GT 630 and Radeon HD 7750. To run it, you need the original ROM version of the game, since Recompiled contains only code, without art and music. There are also plans to add ray tracing, as in other N64 ports to PC, such as Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
