Recently, the Guinness Book of World Records updated the "Best-Selling Video Game" page. According to the data presented, it is currently Minecraft.
Reportedly, more than 350 million copies of the cubic sandbox have been sold:
Minecraft began its history with a free alpha version in May 2009, and the official launch of version 1.0 took place in 2011. On October 15, 2023, Minecraft sales exceeded 300 million and it became the first video game to reach this level [of sales]
For comparison, Grand Theft Auto 5 (2013) has exceeded 215 million copies this year.
