According to a recent report by insider Daniel Richtman, the studio may take an unusual step. Instead of the standard title Sonic the Hedgehog 4, the film may be renamed Sonic CD, referencing the 90s game. Rumor has it that the decision has a plot-related meaning: Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, characters first introduced in Sonic CD, will appear in the new installment. This move would be a pleasant gift for nostalgic fans, but may remain incomprehensible to younger audiences.
There is currently no official confirmation. Sonic CD may only be a working title during the production phase. Paramount continues to develop the franchise, considering spin-offs and new sequels. Many fans believe that changing the name is unnecessary, as the proven formula has already brought success.
