Elite Dangerous developers at Frontier Developments have announced that players have already explored over 75,000 star systems in the Milky Way galaxy. This demonstrates the popularity of the colonization feature launched in beta. The testing period will end on November 11, after which the system will be fully operational.
Along with this, a new type of starport directly related to colonization will be added to the game. However, opening such stations will only be possible for 50,000 ARX, meaning the purchase will be quite expensive.
The developers are also preparing a new spacecraft — the huge Caspian Explorer research cruiser. Initially, it can be purchased for the in-game currency ARX, and after a few months, it can be obtained in the usual way.
The news doesn't end there. In early 2026, Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will receive a major Operations update, which will significantly expand the ground combat system. Players will be able to fight aboard Megaships and participate in cooperative missions for up to four people. AI behavior and reactions will also be improved, making battles more dynamic and realistic.
