The new season of "The Witcher" has encountered a serious problem due to a sharp decline in audience interest. The fourth part of the series was released on October 30 and was supposed to be a big comeback. Liam Hemsworth debuted as Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill, but data shows a record decline in popularity.

According to Netflix TUDUM, the first four days of "The Witcher: Season 4" were watched 7.4 million times, which brought the series only second place among English-language shows of the week. For comparison: the second season gained 18.5 million, and the third — 15.2 million views, that is, the fall exceeds 60% relative to the second season.

In the list of the most popular shows of the week, "The Witcher" ranks only 10th, behind "Bridgerton" (45.1 million), "Stranger Things 4" (21.9 million) and "Griselda" (20.6 million).

Criticism is also not on the side of the project. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 60% of reviewers recommend the series, which is the lowest figure in the history of the franchise. Viewers' opinions were divided: some praise Liam Hemsworth for a fresh look at Geralt, but many believe that the magic of the first seasons has disappeared.

Netflix continues to promote "The Witcher" as one of its flagship universes, but the numbers leave no doubt — popularity is falling, and the fourth season started worse than all previous ones. The creators of the fifth season face an extremely difficult task.
