After the failure with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Paradox Interactive pleased fans. The strategy game Europa Universalis V received high marks from critics and also shows strong results in sales and online presence.
The game launched on PC and immediately surpassed many recent AAA releases in popularity. On the evening of its release day, over 77,000 people were playing it simultaneously on Steam.
In the revenue ranking, Europa Universalis V even surpassed ARC Raiders for a while, and at the time of publication, it is in fourth place among the best-selling games on Steam, ahead of Battlefield 6. Of course, maintaining such positions for a week will be difficult. But the very fact shows how strong the strategy genre is, especially on PC.
User reviews are mixed: only 62% of players on Steam recommend the game. The main complaints are related to performance, inconvenient interface, and passive behavior of artificial intelligence.
