Nintendo has launched an official website that allows users to check which games from the original Switch are supported on Switch 2.
The service features a simple search engine: just enter the name of the game to see its compatibility status. For example, Super Mario Galaxy displays a note "Supported - game behavior matches the Nintendo Switch version," confirming stable operation without errors or performance losses. The site is designed to eliminate doubts about backward compatibility and simplify the transition for users to Switch 2.
The console was released in June 2025 and retains almost full support for the previous generation's library. All cartridges and digital versions from the Nintendo eShop are available via account transfer. Nintendo achieved this through a combination of software and hardware solutions, which improved loading speed, frame stability, and image clarity in many older games without the need for updates.
Some projects are not yet supported. These are mainly games that use specific controller functions or accessories — for example, Nintendo Labo and Ring Fit Adventure. The company stated that it is working with developers to fix incompatibilities through updates.
