Sega continues to develop Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and turns the game into a real encyclopedia of its iconic series. The project has not just remained an arcade racing entertainment, but has become a large-scale celebration in the history of the company.
Characters from different Sega universes have already been added to the race — Hatsune Miku, Persona, Like a Dragon. The hero NiGHTS will appear in the game for free in December, just in time for the New Year holidays. Together with him, a unique kart will be added, which will bring a little magic to the end of 2025. The only thing missing is its own track and signature music.
Sega announced that AiAi from Super Monkey Ball will join the game in January, and Tangle and Whisper characters from the Sonic universe in February. All of them will be free.
For those who want even more, the SpongeBob SquarePants Pack paid add-on will be released on November 19, 2025. It will include SpongeBob and Patrick as playable racers, a new Bikini Bottom track and musical accompaniment from the animated series.
