System Era Softworks has announced the release of the PlayStation 5 version of the interplanetary simulator Astroneer on November 20, 2025. The upgrade will be free for owners of the PS4 version.
On PS5, the game will run in native 4K at 60 frames per second and will receive support for the DualSense controller.
Astroneer was originally released on December 16, 2016 in early access on PC in Steam, then received a full release on Xbox One and PC on February 5, 2019, on PS4 on November 15, 2019 and on Switch on January 13, 2022.
Players explore planets, change the landscape, build bases and transport, survive in a dangerous environment in a large sandbox world. Cooperative play is available for up to four people.
