It's a holiday for fans of the Great Crusade, the Horus Heresy, and the Mechanicum today, as the developers of the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy tabletop game have unveiled a new set with six plastic Destroyer Myrmidon miniatures.
These are high-ranking tech-priests who see battle as a way to glimpse the will of the Omnissiah, and their devastating volleys as prayers. Few enemies live to argue about the intricacies of their machine worship, as these fighters march into battle to deliver sermons of carnage.
Each miniature can be equipped with "Darkfire" – an esoteric energy weapon favored by the Mechanicum – or a radiation engine, showering the enemy and surrounding areas with deadly radiation.
For maximum customization, each miniature is equipped with two head options. In addition, for every three Destroyer Myrmidon models, there are three servo-skulls that can be exchanged between fighters. Pre-orders for a set like this should open in the near future.
Updated rules for the Destroyer Myrmidons can be found in the recently announced tactical journal "Skitarii – The Steel Hand of Mars".
