Informant Nick Marseil published a complete list of nominees for "Game of the Year" since 2013 on X published, dividing them by platform: PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox.
PlayStation received 15 nominations, including The Last of Us, Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Death Stranding 2, and others. Nintendo received 12 nominations, including Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Donkey Kong Bananza, and others. Xbox has never been on the list.
Xbox's last "Game of the Year" nominations were before the advent of The Game Awards: Halo: Reach and Mass Effect 2 received them at the Spike Video Game Awards, but neither of these games won.
Current TGA 2025 nominees: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Donkey Kong Bananza, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and Hades 2.
