Arrowhead still wants to make Helldivers 2 a "forever game," but work is already underway on the next project.
In an interview, creative director Johan Pilestedt said:
[Starting development] is the part I love the most. When a new team comes together and the barriers between us are removed, when we understand who we are as people and what games we want to make together.
Answering a question about what the team is aiming for, he said:
We want to continue the legacy of what we have already created. It won't be something too far from Helldivers, so all the big Helldivers fans will be able to jump straight into the next game and at least recognize its DNA.
Details about the project are not yet available. It is only confirmed that the game will be released on multiple platforms.
