CD Projekt RED recently spoke with investors about the results of the third quarter of fiscal year 2025. Participants in the discussion inquired about the status of new projects and clarified whether the company considers the board game based on "The Witcher" to be a gaming project (belonging to the gaming category).
CDPR co-director Michał Nowakowski stated:
[...] I can comment on the "Cyberpunk card game." I noticed that there is a lot of confusion surrounding this project. Let me clarify: this is a physical collectible card game (PCG). It is not a video game.
The moderator of the discussion added:
Regarding the question of whether [the board game based on "The Witcher"] is included in the list of already mentioned unannounced projects — no, we are not developing it ourselves. We do not capitalize the expenses on it. We did not mention either board games or a large TCG as our "unannounced project"
Michał Nowakowski also spoke about the status of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel:
"Regarding the question of whether the Cyberpunk 2 team is nearing the completion of pre-production or if it is still far away?" We are pleased with the current progress of the development team, but it is too early to talk about moving to any next stage or phase of the project. We will definitely make an official announcement when the time comes.
