A player found support, but not quite the kind they were expecting.
In ARC Raiders, players can communicate using voice chat. One fan of the game recently got so loud that it caused concern among neighbors.
YoMopho was staying at a motel and decided to play ARC Raiders on PlayStation 5. The intense gaming session ended with the police arriving.
I'm sitting in a motel in the evening [playing on PS5] and suddenly, about 15 minutes ago, I heard a knock on the door: "Police! Open up!!!". I go over, look through the peephole, but I didn't see anything. So I closed the chain lock and asked about a warrant. And the police officer replied that they were conducting an investigation because someone reported that someone had been shot in my room...
Shortly before the police arrived, YoMopho was playing on the Blue Gate map and was screaming very loudly because he had collected valuable loot but was shot by a robot near the extraction point:
On the way back to the extraction point, I was ambushed by a rocket launcher because I was in too much of a hurry. I yelled: "Help! I'm going to die! I've been shot, please pick me up!!!" There was a guy at the extraction point, I saw him — he seemed like he wanted to help, but the rocket launcher was too close and dangerous, so he ran away. I didn't manage to evacuate and died. Then I screamed again... Apparently, that's when someone called the police.
