Portal Mp1st has received information that Capcom is working on a new Dead Rising project. This is a full-fledged new game in the series, not a remaster.
The game has been in development since at least 2023 under the codename "Rec" and will bring back the main character Frank West. It seems to be a direct sequel to the first part, although this has not been officially confirmed.
The events will unfold before Dead Rising 2, which told the story of Chuck Greene. The new game will allow newcomers to get acquainted with the series and continue Frank's story.
The action will take place in Hollywood, on a huge closed film studio. The main villain is an eccentric director. He forces Frank and the survivors to go through dangerous trials for the sake of the "perfect movie." Among the opponents are psychopaths, including an assistant director with a bomb on his body, whom Frank will save at the beginning of the game.
The game will feature other survivors, including actors and a girl looking for her sister, as well as familiar characters like Isabella Keyes. Frank's camera and time limit mechanics will return, and survivor rescue may also appear.
There is no exact release date yet, but the game is likely to be released soon.
