Actor Ben Starr, who voiced Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, is ready to "lose to Megabonk" at The Game Awards, even though Megabonk has officially withdrawn from participation.
Starr and Jennifer English, who voiced Mael, discussed the success of the French JRPG in a video for the Future Games Show. The game from Sandfall Interactive won 7 awards at the Golden Joystick Awards and received 12 nominations at TGA. When asked how many awards Clair Obscur would receive, the actors replied: "I don't know."
Starr jokingly added:
It will lose to Megabonk in all 19 nominations.
The actor emphasized the main point:
I firmly believe this and will continue to believe it throughout my career: a game doesn't need to win awards to be deservedly excellent. Your impressions of the game in the context of how you play it are more important.
One person's game can be game of the year for one and the worst for another. That's the beauty of opinions.
